2008 SAUK COUNTY DEMO, TRUCK RULES NOW AVAILABLE;

SPECIAL AUTO, BIKE SHOWS PLANNED

BARABOO, WI – (June 24, 2008) – Old, new, red, blue. Regardless of your car, motorcycle or even truck, the 154th annual Sauk County Fair has a whole lot of fun going on for people and their vehicles.

The ever-popular Sunday demolition derby in front of the grand stands will include only one afternoon show this year. But who’s the favorite to win? Only those who enter have a chance, and the demolition derby rules are now posted to the Sauk County Fair website. The rules are slightly changed from 2007, so entrants should be sure to check out what they need to do to turn that old jalopy into a mean-running work of art.

Those people entering trucks can also pick up the rules they need to follow at the Sauk County Fair website. The rules are included as part of but in its own section with the car demo derby rules.

Yet, it’s known around the world that Americans love their vehicles, and now they can show off their stuff in two brand-new events planned at this year’s fair. The first-ever Bike Show and the First-Ever Classic Car Show will be part of this year’s events.

All makes and models of motorcycles will be on display at the fair on Wednesday. Bikers are welcomed to ride in and register their bike between 5:30 and 7 p.m. Judging will take place and awards will be presented. Classes of bikes will be antiques, dresser, sidecar, touring, trikes, under 800 cc and sport. Judging criteria will include paint, plating/polishing, engineering, street function, seat and style. Bikers who want more information should contact Joe Rugolo at joerugolo@msn.com.

The first-ever Car Show will be held Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. Owners of all makes and models of cars – very old to very new and hot – are welcome to display their vehicles. And fair-goers will have a chance to pick out their favorite ones when they’re on display near the Commercial Building.  For more information about bringing a car to the show, contact Fair Secretary Kellie Zink at info@saukcountyfair.com

Also available online are rules for all team and individual Grandstand events. Those include the Pullers Inc. Super Farm, Hot Farm Tractor Modified 4 wheel drive Truck, 2 wheel drive Truck and Semi Truck pulls Saturday night; the Run What Ya Brung ATV Races Thursday night; the Catch a Pig  team contest Wednesday night and the Farm and Antique Tractor Pull Tuesday night.
