HCE SPONSORS DAIRY RECIPE CONTEST

(Baraboo) - Home & Community Education (HCE) will sponsor the annual dairy recipe contest at the Sauk County Fair. Finalists will be judged on Sunday, July 17, 2005, at 1:00 PM at the fairgrounds. The topic this year is appetizers.

You are eligible to enter if you are 18 years of age or older as of January 1, 2005, and are a resident of Sauk County. To enter, print or type your name, address and phone number in the upper right-hand corner on an 8-1/2” x 11” white sheet of paper. Print or type your recipe on this sheet. Only one entry per person is allowed. Mail to: HCE Appetizer Recipe Contest, c/o Sauk County UW Extension, 505 Broadway, Baraboo, WI 53913. Entries must be postmarked on or before June 24, 2005.

The recipe will be judged for taste, appearance, creativity, and the recipe must contain two dairy products such as sour cream, butter, milk, cream, cream cheese, or cheese. Eggs are NOT a dairy product.

The first, second and third place winners will be announced at the time of judging at the Sauk County Fair. Prizes will be awarded at that time. If you have question, call Sue Nagelkerk at the UW Extension office, 355-3256.
