THREE
PLACE IN 2005 HCE DAIRY RECIPE CONTEST
(Baraboo)—If invited to a party where
appetizers from any of three Sauk County women are served, make sure you
attend. That’s because they placed in the annual dairy recipe contest sponsored
by the Sauk County Home
& Community Education (HCE) organization at the 2005 Sauk County Fair. The
three finalists were judged on Sunday, July 17, at 1 p.m. at the fairgrounds.
The
three finalists included: First place Nancy
Liegel, Sauk City, with her Asparagus Ham Tartlets; Second place Arlene
Marslender, Lake Delton, with her Chunky Cheese Dip; and Third place Barbara
MacLeish, Baraboo, with her BT Cheese Buns. The recipe were judged for taste, appearance, creativity
and the inclusion of two dairy products. For their efforts, the top three
finalists each received a box of assorted cheeses from HCE as well as an apron
and pizza cutter from the Sauk County Dairy Promoters, Inc.
To
enter the annual dairy recipe contest, people must be 18 years of age or older
as of January 1 and are a Sauk County resident. Entries must be printed or
typed, with only one entry per person allowed. The contest category—such as appetizers,
main dishes and desserts—is announced each spring and coordinated the HCE
through the Sauk County University of Wisconsin-Extension, 505 Broadway,
Baraboo.
