SAUK COUNTY FAIREST OF FAIR

CONTEST DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JUNE 24

 

 

BARABOO, WI—(June 13, 2005)—The 2005 Sauk County Fairest of the Fair contest deadline has been extended to June 24, announced the Sauk County Agricultural Society on Friday. Young men and women busy with year-end school activities get a few more days to apply. For guidelines and an application, go to www.saukcountyfair.com. Or, pick up an application at the Sauk County University of Wisconsin-Extension office on the third floor of the West Square Building on Broadway Street in Baraboo.

 

Anyone who will be 18 years old by January 1, 2006, and who is a legal Sauk County resident can apply. Students at out-of-county colleges can compete. Application deadline is 4 p.m. on Friday, June 24. 

 

The Fairest of the Fair serves as the ambassador for the largest free event in the county July 12-17. The ambassador also receives a travel stipend from the Sauk County Agricultural Society and a $500 award from Badgerland Farm Credit Services.

 

Admission onto the Fairgrounds, located on Baraboo’s east side, remains free and daily free events include the 4-H Action Center, Barn Yard Theatre, 4-H/FFA projects, Open Class entries, live animals and judging, educational exhibits, commercial vendors and nightly music in the Litscher Pavilion.
