WIN A CROWN AND BANNER, TRAVEL;

SAUK COUNTY FAIR SEEKS AMBASSADOR

BARABOO, WI—(April 25, 2005)—Ever dream of becoming a little princess with your own crown and banner? Well, now’s your chance in the 2005 Sauk County Fairest of the Fair competition. However, the Sauk County Agricultural Society wants more than just another pretty face. It wants knowledge and skills to go with the crown and banner.

The Fairest of the Fair serves as a year-round ambassador for the largest free event in the county. What does that mean? It’s not exactly a free ride on the Ferris wheel, though these arrangements can be made. This ambassador serves as the official host of the Fair set for July 12-17. Yet, the fun and excitement doesn’t stop there. The right person will continue to speak out about the Sauk County Fair, promoting and educating the community about its agricultural, social and economic opportunities for the entire family.

In return for sharing time and talent, this ambassador gets to travel to exotic places such as the Witwen Fourth of July parade and Loganville-Friendship 4-H Club meeting, as well as the Wisconsin Fairest of the Fair competition in Green Bay in January. The ambassador also gains leadership and public speaking experiences, good for use in any future career. And, Badgerland Farm Credit Services provides an education savings bond while the Sauk County Agricultural Society provides a travel stipend.

The contest is open to legal Sauk County residents. Students at out-of-county colleges are eligible to compete. Contestants must be at least 18 years old by January 1, 2006.
